The Construction Trades-Carpentry Industry includes a variety of different aspects of the construction industry including both residential and commercial construction.

 Residential construction includes new homes as well as remodel on existing homes. 

 Commercial construction includes buildings that are used for business.  This may be an independent retail establishment, strip mall, health related facilities including assisted living and long-term care facilities, banks, schools, and other commercially used buildings.

The Montana Department of Labor projects a 3.2% increase per year in the need for construction employees — that means that the construction industry will need over 800 new employees a year through the year 2012. That is job security!

 The United States Department of Labor projects a 1% job growth in the construction industry nationwide through the year 2014. That means there will be 171,009 new jobs in the next 8 years.

 According to the Montana Department of Labor the annual median wage for carpenters in the construction trades is $32,000.00.
